Key Initiatives

DIC is promoting a variety of initiatives aimed at achieving sustainable development.

  • Became a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and pledged support for the 10 principles of the UNGCC
  • Declared support for the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)
  • Received endorsement of its CO2 emissions reduction target from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
  • Proclaimed respect for guidelines on operating in a socially responsible manner provided by ISO 26000, the International Organization for Standardization’s standard for sustainability
  • Joined the Japan Clean Ocean Material Alliance (CLOMA), which was established to address the issue of marine plastic waste
  • Became a member of the Human Capital Management Consortium, for which Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Financial Services Agency serve as observers
  • Signed the CEO’s Declaration of Support for the Responsible Care Global Charter
