Sun Chemical Launches Lumina® HD Fine Fraction Effect Pigments for the Coatings Market

Tokyo Japan - May 11 2023 - Sun Chemical, a wholly owned subsidiary of DIC Corporation, has launched Lumina® HD, a new family of high-definition effect pigments based on fine fraction synthetic mica that was developed to expand the color space for automotive stylings and other coatings applications, including aerospace, general industrial and powder coatings.

The first two pigments in the Lumina HD family are Lumina HD Blue and Lumina HD Russet. Both deliver the highest performance properties including exceptional chroma, enhanced distinctness of image and subtle sparkle. Lumina HD pigments provide designers new latitude to create unique shades in the red to maroon and blue color areas.
