Tokyo, Japan—DIC Corporation has resolved to increase sales prices for epoxy resins and epoxy resin curing agents, used in insulating materials for electronics components and coatings, among others. Revised prices will apply to products delivered on or after July 7, 2022.

DIC revised its sales prices for epoxy resins and epoxy resin curing agents in January 2022. Nonetheless, raw materials prices have risen further in the months since as a result of tight market conditions, a consequence of issues with the supply–demand balance for individual materials. Sharply rising utility costs and precipitous exchange rate fluctuations have further exacerbated the Company’s cost burden. DIC has taken steps to absorb such cost increases, but it recognizes that the situation has gone beyond the point where independent efforts alone are sufficient and that additional sales price revisions are unavoidable to ensure stable supplies going forward. Accordingly, the Company has made the decision to revise sales prices as indicated below.

Range of price increases:
        Epoxy resins
         Bisphenol A ¥90-plus/kg
         Bisphenol F ¥130-plus/kg
         Novolac solid and liquid ¥110–¥150-plus/kg
         Flame-retardant ¥100-plus/kg
        Flame retarding agents ¥150-plus/kg
        Novolac curing agents ¥130-plus/kg
        Amine curing agents ¥40-plus/kg
        Other affected products ¥50-plus/kg

Date effective: Products delivered on or after July 7, 2022.
