Tokyo, Japan– DIC Corporation announced that PT DIC ASTRA Chemicals, a subsidiary in Indonesia engaged in the manufacture and sale of plastic colorants and compounds, won an award from the government of the Special Capital Region of Jakarta (Daerah Khusus Ibukota Jakarta (DKI Jakarta) in Indonesia) under the DKI–Jakarta–Company Environment Performance Appraisal Program, which confers awards on companies demonstrating excellence in the area of environmental protection. The award recognized PT DIC ASTRA Chemicals’ long-term, consistent efforts to comply with environmental regulations in Jakarta and its environs, as well as its outstanding systems for managing the discharge of effluents and emissions of air pollutants.

Awards are determined based on the results of audits of the environmental performance—i.e., efforts to reduce environmental impact—of all companies in the special capital region conducted by the Jakarta government. PT DIC ASTRA Chemicals was one of only eight companies chosen to receive an award from among more than 1,000 Jakarta-based manufacturers.

As an organization that manufactures and sells chemical substances, the DIC Group has set standardized regulations (codes) for environmental, safety and health (ESH) initiatives and works to exceed legal and regulatory standards. The code for environmental protection, which is to promote the continuous reduction of its emissions of chemical substances, has long guided related efforts at Group production sites worldwide. Looking ahead, the Group will continue working to cut its chemical substance emissions with the aim of contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.
