Awareness is increasing regarding the environment and the safety of plasticizers and a response is being demanded in raw materials as well. DIC is working to develop plasticizers (non-phthalate) that accommodate usage restrictions for Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals, food utensils, containers and packaging, and toys.
Polycizer W-230-H and W-1430-EL, polyester-based plasticizers developed by DIC as a replacement for phthalate plasticizers, have the features shown below.
Polycizer W-230-H has low viscosity with good workability. It possess the same low temperature flexibility as DEHP (DOP) and has excellent heat aging characteristics.
Polycizer W-1430-EL is a plasticizer that achieves a balance between flexibility and durability.
Non-phthalate ester: Polyester (Non-phthalate structure)
High performance: Non-volatility (low degradation), non-migration, oil resistant
Safety: JHP (Japan Hygienic PVC Association) PL approved
Major Applications: Hoses, wires, game consoles, gaskets
REACH: Authorized substances DEHP (DOP), DBP, BBP, DIBP listed.
DEHP: Bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate,DBP:Dibutyl phthalate
BBP: Butyl benzyl phthalate,DIBP:Diisobutyl phthalate
Polycizer W-230-H has low viscosity because of polyester and has excellent oil resistance compared to phthalate ester.
Polycizer W-1430-EL has excellent non-volatility, non-migration, and oil resistance compared to phthalate ester.
