Titanium dioxide has been used in the past for the purpose of coloring film white and imparting hiding. Year after year, demands in masterbatches keep increasing and their level keeps improving. Workability that can withstand being turned into thin films and high hiding power, and also functionality like weather resistance and optical reflectance are being demanded in masterbatches.
To answer the demands of our customers, DIC has developed a titanium dioxide masterbatch far superior to the performance of previous products by newly adding proprietary materials and processing techniques to the compounding and mixing techniques accumulated over the years.

About High Performance Titanium Dioxide Masterbatches

1. High hiding power
Demonstrates high hiding power by dispersing titanium dioxide particles to a level even nearer to the primary particles.

2. Superior filter life characteristics
Greatly improves the life of filters by decreasing filter clogging by a large reduction in agglomerated particles.

By greatly decreasing the water content in the masterbatch, die-lip contamination is greatly reduced without using wax or metallic soaps which may adversely affect film performance. Productivity can be increased by improving the external appearance of the film and reducing the frequency of cleaning work.

By greatly decreasing the water content in the masterbatch, achieves the control of foaming (racing) when forming films. Demonstrates its effect in laminated films formed at high temperatures of 300°C or higher.

By achieving high dispersion of hard-to-disperse highly weather-resistant titanium dioxide, it becomes possible to use it in thin film applications such as solar cell back sheets that demand high weather resistance.

2. Reflection application
By increasing the dispersion level of titanium oxide particles in the masterbatch, the reflective properties of titanium dioxide can be expressed more effectively, and its power can be demonstrated in reflective applications such as LED reflectors that demand high reflectivity.
