Siam Chemical Industry appointed female president from DIC

On January 1, 2018, Sumiko Mochizuki was appointed president of Siam Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. (HQ: Bangkok), a subsidiary of DIC Corporation, which manufactures and sells polymers in Thailand. This is the first time that a female employee from DIC assumes the position of president of a group company.

After joining Finance Division at headquarters, she has contributed to the globalization of the polymer business by promoting order management in the polymer division and improving the efficiency of import and export-related operations. Since May 2017, she has been vice president of the company. When we introduce the first photovoltaic power generation equipment as a group company in the Asia-Pacific region, she has played a vital role by organizing as a project leader.

Since its inception in 1974, the company has manufactured and sold polymer products such as acrylic resins, polyester resins, urethane resins, and has contributed to the development of the polymer business in the region. In 2015, we established the Polymer Technical Center -Asia Pacific on our premises for the purpose of developing technologies to meet local needs. These efforts are part of our efforts to strengthen our business base.

In the future, we intend to further enhance our competitiveness in the region by deepening local needs and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
