Manufacturing through optimal supply chain

In general, the more complicated the problem the customer has, there is a tendency that the function required for the adhesive tapes also becomes special. In order to develop special functional adhesive tapes, it may be necessary to improve the raw materials, and conditions for processing may become difficult. Even if we can develop something special, it is not worth unless it can be processed into the parts applicable for the final product. To facilitate the development of value-added features that are unlike anything in existence, we believe that it is necessary to further tighten cooperation with manufacturers related to the supply chain. DIC has a wide range of relationships not only with raw material manufacturers but also processing companies such as die-cutting and laminating. These relationships enable DIC to develop a variety of products.

Promoting open innovation

Facilitating new product developments, we promote "open innovation" for larger collaboration with internal divisions and external companies. The reason for this is that we believe we need development systems that are not limited to existing frameworks of adhesive tape manufacturing, so as to satisfy market needs that is becoming more and more complicated. Through the fusion of our basic technology with new technologies from industry-government-academia, we are making energetic efforts to give special features to our adhesive materials and to accelerate development.
