DIC and Sun Chemical to Showcase Latest Resin and Color Materials Innovations at CHINACOAT 2025

Tokyo, Japan – DIC and Sun Chemical will present their newest resin and pigment technologies including advancements in automotive, industrial and sustainable coatings at CHINACOAT 2025 from November 25–27 in Shanghai, China.

Announcement of New Resin Technologies
During the exhibition, we will showcase the latest resin technologies—developed as part of our “Resin Innovation” initiative—designed for advanced energy systems, sustainable infrastructure, and high-performance coatings.

●WATERSOL UD-5002: A high-performance binder for in-mold decoration films. Delivers flawless metallic pigment orientation and excellent water resistance, enabling premium aesthetics on interior trims and functional performance for components like airbag covers.
●ACRYDIC AU-7218/ ACRYDIC AU-7219: A high-gloss solvent-based system for plastics. This basecoat/clearcoat duo provides an exceptional finish for two-wheelers, auto parts, and 3C products, balancing stunning visuals with protection.

3. Automotive Exterior, Transportation & General Industry

【Product Highlights】
●Ultra-Fast Dry Hydroxyl Acrylics (ACR6676, ACR6626, ACR6642): The benchmark for productivity in automotive refinish. These solvent-based resins enable incredibly fast turnaround times, being water-sandable in just 1 hour at 25°C, without compromising on final finish quality.
●Water-Based Acrylic Portfolio (3AH4201W, 3AH1100W, 3AH0519W): A versatile series of hydroxyl acrylics for diverse exterior demands. These resins provide durable topcoats for railway vehicles, construction equipment (ACE), and general industrial applications, offering a balance of weatherability and mechanical properties.
●Water-Based Epoxy Ester (3AE7003Y): A cost-effective, fast-drying solution for general industrial coatings, providing a robust protective film with excellent application properties.

Pigment Premieres
Sun Chemical will unveil its latest effect pigment innovations at booth W1.F21 during the show. Recognized for their exceptional purity, performance and visual impact, several world product premieres will be on display, including new grades in the renowned Paliocrom, Lumina and Glacier portfolios.

Among the featured highlights will be Paliocrom Brilliant Ruby L 3558, Sun Chemical’s most intense bluish-red aluminum effect pigment. Offering extraordinary hiding power, brilliance and lightness and suitable for both solventborne and waterborne systems, Paliocrom Brilliant Ruby L 3558 is formulated for modern automotive and high-performance industrial coatings. The latest Paliocrom innovation, Paliocrom Premium Orange L 2900, will make its debut at the show.

Sun Chemical’s Lumina HD series continues to magnify exceptional chroma and subtle sparkle with high-definition, semi-transparent effect pigments based on fine fraction synthetic mica. The newest pigment in this line, Lumina HD Exterior Blue Russet S6903V, will be on display, delivering high-definition, semi-transparent, magenta chroma ideal for exterior automotive and industrial coatings applications.

From the Glacier pigment portfolio, Sun Chemical will premiere Glacier Exterior Ceramic White S1303M, a next-generation synthetic mica pearl pigment enabling intensely pure white shades with subtle satin effects. Pigments from the Glacier line are based on transparent synthetic mica and offer improved luster and brightness with a bluish reflection color that produces clean, cool sparkle effects.

Sun Chemical continues to invest in securing supply stability for high-performance pigment chemistries, particularly Perylene reds and blacks, through production optimization and capital investments. Sun Chemical also ensures compliance and future-readiness across its Heliogen blue and green Phthalocyanine pigments for automotive effect finishes, maintaining consistent purity and performance amid evolving regulations. Other automotive innovations on display will include the newly launched Chinese Automotive OEM trend styling and 2-wheeler trend styling show for motorcycles, featuring three high-chroma aesthetic themes of Extreme Ambition, Ultimate Lifestyle and True Commitment.

In addition to product showcases, Sun Chemical will highlight new digital tool features that offer direct access to product carbon footprint statements through the Pigment Finder platform, enhancing transparency and sustainability for customers worldwide.
