Full-scale introduction as "PVC-free ink" starting in 2024
Features of PVC Free Ink 【SHIOLESS】
-
・Enables improved recyclability of recycled plastics.
・Maintains the performance of existing inks.
Recycling friendly
Achieves the same printing quality as the high-performance gravure and flexo inks provided in various Asian countries. Boil and retort grade products also available.
Available in many countries around the world.
Evaluation of material recyclability
SHIOLESS, which uses chlorine-free resin, significantly suppresses discoloration of recycled pellets compared to current inks containing chlorine-based resins, contributing to improved quality of recycled plastics and reduced corrosion of recycling equipment.
- Recycled pellets were produced using test pieces printed with medium on polyethylene film, and material recyclability was evaluated.
- As a result, with the current ink containing chlorine-based resin, the recycled pellets were discolored to dark brown, whereas with SHIOLESS, which uses a chlorine-free resin, the coloring of the pellets was significantly suppressed.
- Since SHIOLESS does not contain chlorine-based resin, the generation of chlorine compounds during high-temperature processing is suppressed, contributing to improved quality of recycled plastics and reduced corrosion of recycling equipment.
Comparison Data on Print Suitability and Physical Properties

- SHIOLESS has excellent recyclability while maintaining other performance levels comparable to current inks containing chlorine-based resins.
- It demonstrates good polyethylene extrusion strength with various OPP films, exhibiting performance suitable for olefin-based monomaterial constructions.
