DIC's coating resins business in Indian market

The manufacturing industry in India continues to grow significantly due to industrial promotion measures such as "Make in India". In addition to transport equipment, which is a major industrial product, the production of various products in India, including electronic devices such as PCs and mobile phones, and medical devices, is increasing. The market for coating products used in a wide range of industries continues to grow, and so does the demand for industrial coatings.

DIC is expanding the lineup of products with high performance and reduced solvent consumption by utilizing its extensive knowledge of technologies and applications that can meet various performance requirements such as adhesion and environmentally friendly resins technologies. In 2019, DIC acquired Ideal Chemi Plast Pvt. Ltd., and have been proposing products and paint formulations that meet the needs of the Indian market, as well as enhancing technical support to propose optimal solutions to various issues.

DIC develops a variety of resin products at its bases in Japan, China, Thailand and Indonesia for high-performance coating applications such as automotive, home appliances, electronic equipment and industrial metals. In particular, coating resin products for plastic substrates are highly evaluated, and DIC have accumulated a rich knowledge on adhesion. DIC has been focusing on environmentally friendly resins since early on, and has been developing waterborne resins, which represent environmentally friendly resins, for more than 40 years. By solving social problems such as air pollution, DIC will contribute to sustainability and realize the further development of manufacturing industry and a comfortable society in India.
