Alkylphenols
DIC's alkylphenols have a broad range of applications including use as the raw materials for surfactants and synthetic resins such as phenolic resins, antioxidants for polymers and oils, and polymerization inhibitors for polymerizable monomers.
4-Tertiary Butylphenol
"DIC-PTBP, PTBP"
PTBP is a type of high purity alkylphenol manufactured from phenol and isobutylene using DIC's proprietary techniques. It is used as a molecular weight modifier for polycarbonate resin and as a raw material in synthetic resins such as phenolic resins. In order to respond to various applications, DIC sells regular grade "DIC-PTBP" and special grade "PTBP" with the amount of impurities held to the absolute minimum.
4-Tertiary Butylcatechol
"DIC-TBC"
TBC has a broad range of applications including being used as a polymerization inhibitor for styrene, butadiene, and other polymerizable monomers, an antioxidant for polymers and oils, and a stabilizer for various organic compounds. DIC sells "DIC-TBC" in convenient-to-handle pellets of 100% solid content, an 85% aqueous solution "DIC-TBC-W", and liquid types dissolved in various solvents.
