All of DIC's principal plants have obtained ISO 14001 certification, allowing them to measure environmental management effort against internationally accepted criteria.

DIC's product principle is "Contribute to the profit of the society and customers by providing reliable products constantly". DIC have also acquired ISO 9001 certification to improve the customers' satisfaction.

The international standard for certifying environmental management systems is ISO 14001:2004—Requirements with guidance for use. An environmental management system is an organization's mechanism for incorporating the reduction of environmental impact into its business activities, products and services, and continually improving its performance in this respect. The international standard provides a set of requirements for evaluating the effectiveness of environmental management systems.

ISO9001

The international standard for certifying quality management systems is ISO 9001:2000—Requirements with guidance for use. A quality management system is an organization's mechanism for ensuring its ability to provide products that satisfy its customers' requirements and comply with applicable regulations, and enhancing customer satisfaction, thereby ensuring a relationship that consistently benefits both parties. The international standard provides a set of requirements for evaluating the effectiveness of quality management systems.
